Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading, identifying speech sounds, and understanding how they relate to letters and words. Dyslexia, which is also called reading difficulty, affects areas of the brain that process language.

To eliminate this disinterest and complexity in understanding, Mercedes Lafourcade, teacher and psychopedagogue, proposed to the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) to found her own inclusive publishing house with which she would help children with dyslexia by including in the books some realistic illustrations or with adapted texts that promote learning and the pleasure of reading.

“In the areas in which I have worked, I realized that there were common denominators: for my part, I always resorted to literature as an infallible resource, not only to calm fears or shortcomings that they might have in rural areas, but also in the more culturally favored areas, where many children have deficiencies on an emotional level,” says the teacher.
